Title: The Motherhood Journey: Mental Health, Identity, Loss & Resilience
Synopsis/Learning Objectives:
This 2-hour CEU will explore the complex psychological journey of motherhood, from the desire and struggle to become a mother through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, parenting, and the many transitions that follow. Participants will examine maternal mental health, identity changes, societal expectations, grief and ambiguous loss, parenting children with illness or disabilities, and the profound impact of child loss. The presentation will highlight how clinicians can recognize and support the emotional experiences of mothers while providing compassionate, trauma informed, and culturally responsive care throughout the motherhood journey.
